Calendar of Events

The library motivates children to develop good reading habits and skills through various programs and events.  Ongoing functions include weekly story time for children, programs to encourage reading and library participation, book clubs, puppet shows, cultural series and exhibits.  Seasonal and holiday programs are also offered with stories, films, puppet and marionette shows, arts and crafts and guest presentations.

For preschoolers is every Tuesday from 11:00 to 11:45 am.  Children will develop an appreciation of books and literature through stories, music, poetry, and other activities that promote reading and literacy.   The next Story Time Fun for Preschoolers will be on Tuesday January 3, 10, 17, 24, and 31; and the theme will be Snow and Winter Fun.

February Story time:  February 14, 21, and 28 - Note:  No story time on the 7th.  The theme will be winter and Valentine's day.

 

For all ages.  Is presented on the first (1st)Wednesday of every month at 4:00 pm.  Join us for a lively presentation by the Brockway Puppets.  On Wednesday, January 4th, Puppet Theater will present "Witch's Winter Kitchen" .

Special Puppet show:  On Tuesday, February 14, at 4 pm.  the Brockway Marionettes will present:  Beauty and the Beast.

        For ages 7 and older.  Meets on the third (3rd) Wednesday of each month from 3:30 to 5:00 pm.  We discuss one of the American Girls book characters, do a craft from that era, and have a treat.   American Girls club will meet and discuss the new historical characters "Marie-Grace Gardner and Cecile Rey, New Orleans, 1853:.  Please read one of the books prior to the meeting.  We will do a related craft and have a treat. 

On Wednesday, Feb. 15, from 3:30 – 5:00 American Girls will discuss “Kirsten Larson, Minnesota, 1854.” We will do a pioneer craft and have some Swedish cookies

  

Thursday, Jan.  26, 3:30 – 5 PM: The first Mother-Daughter Book Club will meet! We will discuss Anne of Green Gables by L. M. Montgomery. We will also do a jewelry project and have some treats. Call Ms. Kelly for more information.

         The Summer Reading Program is designed to maintain children's reading skills during the summer and includes special events, guests, and activities.  

Special Seasonal and Holiday Events are announced regularly.   Visit the library often.
