Ahoy
Readers! Join us at the Library this summer for an ocean of reading
fun! Sign up June 7 through June 11; programs are every Tuesday and
Thursday from 2 to 3 PM beginning on June 15 and ending on July 29.
Free and open to all elementary students. We will read our way through
the summer as we explore the world of water with stories, puppet shows,
arts and crafts, and other activities. Special guests, treats, and
surprises will also be part of the fun! Call Ms. Kelly at 305-758-8107

Splash Into Books this Summer—at the Library!
Tuesday, June 15, 2 PM: Let’s begin our summer with a fun-filled show by CRAZY EDDY who will amaze us with his fantastic juggling!
Thursday, June 17, 2 PM: Puppet Show! Meet Sharkey the wild shark and his aquatic friends. Sharkey will be our guide this summer as we explore the world of water. We will make a shark!
Tuesday, June 22, 2 PM: WOW: The Wonders of Water! We’ll learn about water and all of its wonders.
Thursday, June 24,2 PM: An Ocean of Fun!
We will learn about the oceans of the world and what’s happening in them. We will construct an ocean scene.
Tuesday, June 29, 2 PM: Happy 4th of July!
Yes, it’s a little early, but let’s get the party started! We will hear “The True Story of the 4th of July” and do a patriotic project. Wear your red, white and blue!
Thursday, July 1, 2 PM: ALOHA EVERYONE!
POLYNESIAN DANCE SHOW SPECTACULAR! Presented by Island Luau! Let’s celebrate Hawaii with Hula maidens, Polynesian music, leis and much more. Don’t miss it!
Tuesday, July 6, 2 PM: World famous Magician JAMES CHANGEFIELD will magically appear!
Thursday, July 8, 2 PM: ”There’s only One
Everglades!” We’ll hear the Florida Water Story and we’ll make an alligator!

Wildlife Show! You will see an alligator, a crocodile, a king snake, a python, a skunk, and ...an African leopard!
Thursday, July 15, 2 PM: “Water Matters!” a speaker from the South Florida Water Management District will present the latest valuable information about our local water resources.
Tuesday, July 20, 2 PM: High Seas Adventures!
Aarrgh, mateys!
There be
pirates, mermaids, ships, and lonely desert islands in this chapter. Are
ye brave enough to sail these waters? We will make a dancing pirate.
Wed. July 21, 2—3:30 PM: American Girls Club will discuss “Kailey, an American Girl of Today.” Please read Kailey’s book prior to the meeting. Craft and refreshments will follow.
Thursday, July 22, 2 PM: Don’t miss this one!
Mr. Bill Ahern , Sea Turtle authority of Miami-Dade Parks will tell us about our local sea turtle population. You will see a live baby sea turtle!
