    Our library collection includes:

  • Daily/Weekly Newspapers including:  The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, The Miami Herald, The Daily Business Review, and Barron's.

  • Free Internet Access for Miami Shores residents.  The Library has 8 Public access computers for research and word processing.

  • The Florida Electronic Library - A gateway to select Internet resources. You must enter your 14 digit library barcode number with no spaces in order to access this site. Get access to thousands of full text electronic magazines, journals, newspapers, almanacs, encyclopedias, books, documents, and more.  

  • Access to over 16,000 e-books (electronic books).

  • The Miami Shores Archives, which contains materials pertaining to the history of Miami Shores Village.

The Library also provides the following services:

  • Coin Operated Photocopier.

  • Reference assistance. 

  • Interlibrary Loan.

  • Book delivery to homebound patrons.

Adult Programs & Events:

The Brockway Reading Circle

The Brockway Reading Circle is an adult book club that meets one Thursday every month at 6:00 pm. at the library.  The group reads one book each month and meets to discuss and share their thoughts.  The club reads a variety of literature including bestselling fiction, mysteries, and historical / cultural fiction as a few examples.  For more information, please call Michelle Brown at 305-758-8107.   The Brockway Reading Circle is currently reading:  Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet, by Jamie Ford

The next Meeting will be on Thursday, March 11, at 6:00 pm. at the library.        

 

The Garden Club of Miami Shores

The new library garden club meets once a month on the second Saturday of the month at 10:30 a.m. at the Brockway Memorial Library.  We will also be meeting at other places in the area.   Our meetings will generally consist of a presentation based upon the monthly topic(s), a plant exchange (which will enable us to learn about different plants and what’s growing in each member’s garden), information on the “plant of the month”, and sharing of gardening tips and inspiration over coffee and refreshments.

CLUB MEMBERSHIP :  The Garden Club of Miami Shores is open to all residents of Miami Shores and neighboring communities.  The dues are $20.00 a year.  Please contact  Janet Perez at (305) 331-2906 for further information.
